Maxwell is a village in Lincoln County, Nebraska. It is part of the North Platte Micropolitan Statistical Area. Maxwell was platted in 1894 after the Union Pacific Railroad was extended to that point. The town was named for a railroad official. Maxwell was incorporated as a village in 1908. The village has a total area of 0.34 square miles, all of which is land. It is a very small village.On May 17, 2000, Maxwell was hit by an F3 tornado. |
