Lee and Karen Duquette experienced The Vertigo Climb up the Auckland, New Zealand Sky Tower 2005 |
The Sky Tower is a telecommunications and observation tower 1,076 feet tall, from ground level to the top of the mast, making it the 2nd tallest freestanding structure in the Southern Hemisphere. |
The Vertigo Climb in New Zealand is an exhilarating 40-meter vertical guided 1,103 step ladder climb up 51 floors, INSIDE the Auckland Sky Tower. Lee and Karen Duquette found it to be a high-altitude challenging experience. They were securely attached to a pulley system with a locked harness. Once at the top, they saw an incredible, 350-degree view of Auckland in an open-air walk around a 1,2 meter wide platform with NO handrails. All photos taken by guides, cameras were not allowed. |
