• Built in 1961 after Robinwood Speedway in Gastonia, North Carolina was closed.

• The Harrison family and legendary race promoter Humpy Wheeler first opened the track.

• Home of the King of the Carolinas

• 14.784 is the Super Late Model track record held by Chris Ferguson

• Known as ‘The Action Track’

• Gates open at 5:00 PM with Racing at 8:00 PM

Each Friday night, a mascot usually throws lots of candy to the children.

Lee and Karen Duquette returned to Carolina Speedway on July 20, 2019 because the Sprinters were racing. The announcer said they are the fastest cars that will be seen in South Carolina. They need to be pushed in order to start.

Below: Each Friday night, a mascot throws lots of candy to the children. The great-grandson of Lee and Karen Duquette, Anthony Rosenthal, got so much candy that his pockets were bulging and his pants were falling down. On this night, the mascot was Captain Carolina.
