Below: A breath-taking view just across the parking lot from Big Walker Lookout, the highest point on the Big Walker Mountain National Scenic Byway, which is the scenic bypass for I-77 with beautiful mountains for scenery. It is just 12 miles north of I-81 from exit 70. |
Below: Big Walker Mountain is at an elevation of 3,405 feet. The 100 foot Observation Tower at Big Walker Lookout showcases a spectacular panoramic vista. Looking north, you can see the patchwork quilt of the farmlands. Looking south, you can see the untouched wilderness of Jefferson National Forest. |

Below: Time for the two RV Gypsies to climb the big tower. |
Look to the right in the tower photo above to see part of a bridge walkway going off to its right side. The photos below show where that wobbly bridge walkway goes to. No, the two RV Gypsies did NOT walk that part.Below that bridge walkway, Lee Duquette took time to read a big sign that is also shown in better detail below |
Below: An unusual LOVE sign - complete with "BIG FOOT" grabbing Karen Duquette's shoulder. - Is that Big Foot's house next to them ???? |
Below: An unusual outdoor Mountain Top Music Display |

Below: The two RV Gypsies went inside The Country Store / gift shop. The front of the store was a showcase of license plates. Inside the store, the two RV Gypsies enjoyed some hand-dipped Virginia Homestead Creamery Super Premium ice cream and enjoyed browsing many interesting items. They do not buy a lot of things because they live in an RV. |

Below: A sign alongside the gift shop - "We Stand With Ukraine" |
