Redding, California
The largest California city north of Sacramento, is both the center of commerce for northern California and home to vacation essentials.
This section begins with a few fun photos taken out the window of the moving motorhome, while driving from San Francisco to Redding, California. It continues on to Shasta Dam, Shasta Lake. Mt. Shasta, and the Sundial Bridge.

After being in California wine country with wine tasting tours everywhere, this is an interesting sign - and so is the next sign.

BEAR MOUNTAIN RV RESORT & CAMPGROUND
It appeared that many RV's were permanent here, older, and not well maintained.

The entrance road was uphill, narrow, and curvy. When we checked in, I asked the person checking us in what happens if we meet someone coming up the hill and he said "you stop" and I asked, "yeah, and then what?" He did not respond. If a motorhome towing a toad up the hill meets a motorhome towing a toad going down the hill - there WILL be a major problem. There is not enough room to pull over and neither RV would be able to back up. So, when we left the campground, I drove the toad down the hill first and had Lee wait to start down in the motorhome, to give me time to prevent anyone from attempting the drive up until after Lee and the motorhome got down the hill. The pictures don't really show the steepness or narrowness of the hill but you can see the curves.
