Karen was in the U.S. Navy
and Lee was in the U.S. Marine Corps. They met at the gates of the Pearl
Harbor Navel Base. Their first date was at The Waves Anniversary Party
in 1965.

| Sharon Melander was the maid-of-honor and Shelby Shaffer and Cheryl Mix were the bridesmaids. Here are some photos of Shelby, Karen, and Sharon from 1966 and 2010. Karen Duquette still sees Sharon often. But sadly, Shelby died in the year 2014. Cheryl Mix was also an attendant but neither Karen, Sharon or Shelby has heard from Cheryl since they got out the military service. |
