Markham Park in
Sunrise, Florida & nearby areas The two RV Gypsies winter here each season for 5 months. |
|
RVing is exciting and full of adventure - including finding unexpected wildlife - see the large iguana and alligator below, plus more great photos |
| Markham Park, Sunrise/Weston, Florida is a nice size county park, and the people in the office are very helpful and friendly. However, it is not just a campground, so when the park holds a special event, you can wait in line to get back in the park for an hour or more because so many locals participate in these special events. During those times, we don't leave the park unless we leave early morning and return late evening. Also since it is not just a campground, there are no activity buildings, the pool is open to the public but only open certain times of the year, and costs on a daily basis to everyone. There is a nice dog park there, a target range (which can be heard in our motorhome), and a model airplane flying field. The two RV Gypsies plan to winter there each year to visit their beloved daughter and grandchildren, and so that Karen can line dance with her friends. |

On April 25, 2008, the two RV Gypsies left Markham Park and the extremely difficult task of leaving their beloved children and grandchildren to travel full-time in their motorhome. However, Markham Park will be the winter destination for a few months each year so Karen & Lee can be with their family again. Travel logs and tons of pictures will be posted as they are taken. | ||
