Markham Park in Sunrise, Florida & nearby areas

RVing is exciting and full of adventure

Markham Park, Sunrise/Weston, Florida is a nice size county park, and the people in the office are very helpful and friendly. However, it is not just a campground, so when the park holds a special event, everyone entering the park, including RVers, wait in line to get into the park for an hour or more because so many locals participate in these special events. During those times, Karen & Lee don't leave the park unless they leave early morning and return late evening. Also since it is not just a campground, there are no activity buildings, the pool is open to the public but only open certain times of the year, and costs on a daily basis to everyone, including RVers. There is a nice dog park there, a target range (which can be heard in our motorhome), and a model airplane flying field.

These two photos show an alligator swimming directly behind the RV of the two RV Gypsies at Markham Park - yes, that's the same area Lee & Alex are fishing at in the below photo; but a different day! The movie will be posted at a later date.

family
On April 25, 2008, the two RV Gypsies left Markham Park and the extremely difficult task of leaving their beloved children and grandchildren to travel full-time in their motorhome. Leaving family is the hardest part of being a full-time RVer.
