The Two RV Gypsies: Full-Time RVers
took an ATV backcountry tour in Denali
on Denali National Park and Preserve, Alaska
where they got extremely dirty and dusty.
July 5, 2009

The two RV Gypsies arrived a bit early for the ATV tour, so they were given a FREE round of miniature golf and a soda.

Black Diamond Resort Co. - Otto Lake, Healy AK99743
Directions: Black Diamond Resort Co. is located at mile 247 on the George Parks Highway, just 8 miles north of the Denali National Park entrance. Turn onto Otto Lake Road and go about a half mile down the road. Phone: 707.490.2697 for reservations, prices and information. Season is usually May 7 - September 21.

Below: Then it was time for the two RV Gypsies' ATV Tour, their second time on an ATV. Black Diamond ATV tours guided the two RV Gypsies and others as they each drove their rented 4-Wheel All Terrain Vehicle, ATV, into the backcountry of Alaska, through an old coal mining trail and through the dry Creek River bed where Athabaskan Indian artifacts have been found in archeological digs. However, they were so busy trying to get over the extremely BIG rocks without tipping their ATV over that they really did not see the scenery very much. This was a very dirty adventure, rough, but still a lot of fun.

Lee Duquette was on the ATV in front of Karen Duquette and kept aiming the small camera backwards without being able to look through the viewfinder. Most of the time, he did a good job at capturing Karen on the trail behind him.

This was extremely rough terrain, over rocks, even bigger rocks, up and down tipsy curvy hills and lots of dust.
