went to THE SPACE MURAL which was contributed by John and Jackie King from Elfrida, Arizona - The SPACE MURAL in Oral, New Mexico, is about ten miles east of Las Cruces, New Mexico on US Highway 70.

At the bottom of this page is a sub-menu to see photos of White Sands, Mesilla, and Las Cruces itself. A short movie was taken, but Karen Duquette does not know how to post it here. If you can help her, please do so.
The Space Mural
April 16, 2009 - THE SPACE MURAL - This mural is painted on a 1.2 million gallon water tank on the grounds of the Space Murals Museum, a small private air and space museum located near Organ, New Mexico. The mural depicts the history of the U.S. space program from the early flights of the X-15 to the fatal accident of the Challenger Space Shuttle. The mural also includes the names of several of the flight teams. It is quite interesting. Be sure to visit the museum.
