Note: For most of the time that the two RV Gypsies were in San Diego, their RV (their ONLY home) was in repair at the San Diego Freightliner, making them "homeless" in San Diego. During this time, they stayed one night at the Hilton Hamptons, and two nights at Embassy Suites. Reviews of these hotels are posted. Several nights were spent sleeping in the RV on the street in front of Freightliner (Lee's stupid idea). The two RV Gypsies liked the Embassy Suites much better than the Hilton Hamptons. |

17. June 12-14, 2015 - Redwood Nat'l Park, Avenue of the Giants, Trees of Mystery:
The drive from San Francisco to Eureka, California was shorter in distance than the drive to San Francisco, but all vehicles towing were limited to 55 mph speed limit and because of the curvy, steep mountains with many very sharp corners, the RV was often quite slow going up the mountain roads. But they finally arrived in Eureka, California and were amazed as they marveled at the tall Redwood trees. Then the two RV Gypsies even drove their car through two trees as seen by choosing the link above.

September 29-30 Renfro Valley KOA in Mt. Vernon, Kentucky - heavy rain - no adventures |
The two RV Gypsies had planned to go into South Carolina but a hurricane poured lots of rain and major flooding to SC. So they went into Tennessee instead. All-in-all, they had a full week of heavy rain, but no flooding. While driving the RV from KY to TN, the two RV Gypsies saw four major accidents, probably due to the rain, and were delayed for about an hour, but they were just thankful that they were not involved in an accident. October 1-2 - They parked their RV at Clinton / Knoxville North KOA in Clinton, Tennessee - heavy rain - no adventures. |
October 3-4: The two RV Gypsies drove in the rain to Chattanooga North KOA in McDonald, TN (and they had quite a time delay because they passed 4 major accidents on the highway, but they were not involved.)
On October 4th, the rain finally stopped so they went to Red Clay State Historical Park to see the famous blue hole, hiked the trail for some much needed exercise. (site 60) |
October 5: The two RV Gypsies parked their RV at Cartersville / Cassville-White KOA in Cartersville, GA and drove their toad to Historic Euharlee, GA (site 61)
|
October 6: The two RV Gypsies parked their RV at Forsyth KOA and drove their toad to High Falls State Park in Jackson, Georgia and hiked to see the waterfall.
